2 DAYS/ 1 NIGHT DESERT TOUR FROM FES TO FES

For those who don’t have time and don’t want to miss the Sahara desert, check out our Overnight Desert Tour from Fes to Fes. In such a short time, live the dream of camel trekking, sleep in a nomad tent and climb the huge dunes.

Day 1: Fez- Ifrane – Sahara Desert

Your tour begins in the morning when your knowledgeable driver picks you up from your hotel or riad and takes you to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert, where the Erg Chebbi Dunes await, they are spanning eastwards all the way to Algeria. This is one of Morocco’s Must do’ experiences. But first, enjoy the thrill of a trip up into the majestic Atlas Mountains, where your first stop will be in Ifrane, dubbed Morocco’s Switzerland due to its alpine architecture. The next stop is in the fragrant cedar forests around the peaceful village of Azrou, where you can view the Barbary Apes, or Macaque monkeys, contentedly living in their natural habitat and always ready to take your lunch! The lovely trip continues through the mountains until you reach Midelt for lunch (a town known as the apple capital). On route stop for a while to take pictures of the Ziz Valley and its majestic landscapes. Then reach Rissani, the major edge of the Sahara, and then into the desert until the Erg Chebbi Dunes appear out of nowhere, as if by magic. Be ready for the highlight of the day, a ninety-minute camel trek to our Berber tent, which is encircled by huge sand dunes. Relax while listening to traditional Berber music and gazing at the magnificent moon and countless stars that appear to be so close you could touch them. Enjoy your carefully made dinner before going to the spectacular Sahara Desert camp to sleep under the stars.

Day 2: Dunes of Erg Chebbi – Atlas Mountains – Fes

Wake up to a spectacular dawn over the dunes and ride your camel back to our hotel through the shifting shadows. The trek back to Fes via the Mighty Middle Atlas Mountains begins after breakfast. Note that along the trip we will make some short stops.
